Econophysics

Statistical physicists were probably the first scientific community to take a modern algorithmic approach to economics. Paul Ormerod, Founder of Algorithmic Economics, has had close links with Econophysics since its inception in the late 1990s.

Here, in an invited paper for a special issue for the European Physics Journal, he sets down his views on the current strengths, weaknesses and challenges facing econophysics.
